Manoeuvres
Turn in the Road: to begin this manoeuvre, stop the car near the kerb as is you were stopping Apply the handbrake and select 1st gear. Then carry out your all round obersvations, then move the car forward very slowly using the clutch bite point and dipping it down. At the same time turning the steering wheel to the right as fast as you can. When you reach about 1 metre from the kerb start to turn the steering wheel to the left and look for your stopping point, this is when the kerb meets the side of car near your door mirror then bring the car to a gentle stop. Handbrake on and select reverse gear and clutch to the bite point.
Then all round observations starting from the right blind spot around to the left unlit you are looking out of the rear window. Then you start to reverse back turning the steering wheel all the way to the left. When you are about half way across the road have a look from the left to the right until you are looking out of the rear door window you are then looking for your stopping point at the same time starting to turn the steering wheel to the right and bring the car to a gentle halt apply the handbrake and select 1st gear cluctch to bite point.
Good all round observations then move the car forward, turning the steering wheel to the right and then striaghten the steering once in a normal driving position.
Left reverse around a corner: At the start of this manoeuvre stop the car about 8 to 10 inches away from the kerb and about 2 car lengths away from the corner apply handbrake and select reverse gear.
Good observations from the right blind spot around to the left until you are looking out of the rear window. Move the car backwards slowly and about every car length look to the front for oncoming traffic then back to the rear window. Stop the car at the point of turn this is where the kerb starts to move away from the rear tyre, have a look around from the the right side to the left and start to reverse and turn the steering wheel to the left about 1/2 a turn, have a check in the morror to see how close to the kerb you are, and keep looking all around for pedestrians and other vehicles. Keep the car moving slowly so you can check in the mirror to see if you need to turn the steering to the left any more. Once you can see the striaght kerb in the new road then you start to turn the steering wheel back to the right until the car is striaght and reverse back about 2 to 3 car lenghts and bring the car to a gentle stop and apply the handbrake and select neutral.
Bay Park: drive past the bay you want to reverse into by 3 to 4 bays about 1 metre away from the end of the bays bring the car to a gentle stop apply the handbrake and select reverse gear.
Good all round observations from the right blind spot to the left move the car backwards slowly until a line of a bay is about half way along the front door and stop. Good all round observations at this point then start to reverse back and turn the steering wheel to the left or right (depending on which side your bay is!) keep pausing and looking around the car all the time and take time to look in the mirrors. When the rear of the car is in the bay and you look level with the bay opposite then striaghten the steering wheels and continue to reverse back until you are in the bay looking for your stopping reference point.
Kerb Park (reverse around a parked car): stop the car about 1 metre from the parked car, with you left door mirror at the end of the car. Prepare the ready for reversing, then good all round observation starting from the right blind spot to the left until you are looking out of the rear window.
When it's safe reverse the car until the car is level with the parked car. Check all around and if it's safe move the car slowly backwards and turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. When the car face's 2 o'clock or just before straighten the steering wheel and continue back until the left door mirror is about half way across the parked car.
Good all round observations now you need to turn the steering wheel all the way to the right keeping the speed very slow, have a check in the left door mirror, as you don't want to get to close to the kerb at this point. When your happy with your position turn the steering to the left until the front wheels are straight finishing reasonably close and parallel to the kerb and about 1 to 2 car lengths from the parked car.
